My boat typically has some heavy weather helm so last weekend I tried setting my side stay adjusters up one hole and moving the jib halyard back about three holes on the adjusters. The helm is more neutral now with a slight weather helm to it. So it seems you can do gross adjustments to the mast rake and some fine adjustments with the new vang. I did notice that the boat points much better wiby dmday3000 - sailmfg
What material did you use to fabricate your bushings? How did you install them? I was thinking of building up the material around the pin recesses in the trunk with epoxy and micro balloon. I'm not sure how I would re-drill the holes after the repair though. Perhaps a new gasket would out help out a little. If you have a Bandit then you've seen the crazy plastic pulley that passes as a vang. I removed mine (since it was broken anyway) and installed a traditional type vang. I did use the ball end of the old cable and swaged it onto the new vang. Here are some pics.... old and busted pulley new and sleek vang On another topic, does anyone else's centerboard seem to have a lot of play?by dmday3000 - sailmfg
I don't have one for my Bandit either....the Mutineer 15 is similar in design.....would a mutineer spinnaker work?by dmday3000 - sailmfg

Hi, I really enjoy my Bandit (it's my first boat) I'll send dimensions of the sails along next week when I take it out again. I modified my Bandit a little bit to make it easier to setup and sail. I routed the main halyard outside the mast so the mainsail can be raised and lowered quickly, I also replaced the boom vang with a more common type because the old vang pulley was broken. Can you send me the attachment? dmday3000@gmail.comby dmday3000 - sailmfg
The only way that I can see to adjust mast rake in my Bandit 15 is to pin the Jib halyard in a different hole in the bracket. Also the side stays are adjustable, but from rigging my own bandit it seems straight up and down is the best way to rig it. Because of the goofy way the jib halyard acts as the fwd stay for the mast. I also routed the main halyard outside of the mast to make it easier tby dmday3000 - sailmfg
It was owned previously by Lake Metroparks in Cleveland OH. The boat is in fair condition, it was missing some hardware and all the sheets. The main and jib are in good condition but the spinnaker is missing. The boat will be ready to sail as soon as I glass over the holes where the bailers used to attach. I'm looking forward to joining the sailing community here in the Memphis area. I'll getby dmday3000 - sailmfg
