I guess I need to check what is wrong with this forum. Attachments don't seem to be working! I'll look into it.by Paul - sailmfg
Mark, I sent you my email address. Did you get it? If you could send me the attachment, I will post it for all. Paulby Paul - sailmfg
Most likely they were stolen by someone who wants to resell the metal. Right now scrap metal is pretty valuable. I guess this is a lesson for all of us. I'm sorry it happened to you.by Paul - sailmfg
Tim, I will know this answer in about a month. Right now the boat is in storage and I don't have access to it. As soon as I get the boat home I will let you know. Dick was kind enough to send me a photo of his hatch cover and make some measurements, so I think I am ok there. My cusions are an absolute wreck, but they are complete so I can get new ones made using the pattern from the old. Iby Paul - sailmfg
Outstanding, Mark. I have my fingers crossed.by Paul - sailmfg

Well, it seems no one answered your question, Mark. I know there were some Bandit 15 owners in here but it seems they are not watching the site. Good luck with your boat.by Paul - sailmfg
The rigging instructions are on this website, in the "Sidewinder" section. Go take a look there and see if you find them. If not, let me know.by Paul - sailmfg
Me! I finally found one. I currently sits in Pennsylvania in winter storage and I will bring it home in the spring. In the meantime someone is mailing me the cusions so I can have them redone. I know for sure the headliner is falling down and needs to be replaced or removed. I'm not sure what else needs to be done. So... can anyone send me some pictures of the interior? I'd like to get a goodby Paul - sailmfg
This would be a very early model, 1970 plus or minus one year. Paulby Paul - sailmfg
Excuse me for dropping in. I don't own one. But I wanted to give some perspective as I know it. Good to hear the solo went ok! I wish I had one of these boats. It is not in the thousands, that's for sure. Somewhere in the low to mid hundreds perhaps, perhaps not even 500. One theory is that MFG did not make them for too many years before they got out of the boat business. I once heard of soby Paul - sailmfg
I wonder if it might be the same bailer as the Sidewinder. For information about the Sidewinder bailer, seeby Paul - sailmfg
Good news! The rigging and other MFG 19 information that Bill sent arrived in the mail. I have scanned the information and loaded it to the website in the MFG 19 section. I'm in the middle of a general site update, but wanted to get this information posted quickly in case someone wants it. I realize the rigging instructions are slanted - I'm not sure if they arrived that way or if I did it. I'llby Paul - sailmfg
Well, let me know if you decide not to buy it. I'm interested.by Paul - sailmfg
Ken, where are you located? And where are these boats located? Any idea of their condition? Welcome to our site.by Paul - sailmfg
Bill, I rely so much on people to send me information. It is amazing how many times I ask for something and how few times I receive it. So I beg you, would you please send me a copy of what you have so I can put it on the website? You can either scan it yourself and send it to me electronically or make a copy and send it to me in the post. If either of those is a problem, then send me theby Paul - sailmfg
Excellent update Terry. Thanks for sharing. I will indeed include your hull picture the next time I make a site update (which should be soon now).by Paul - sailmfg
$849. There is a price list in the brochures section of the website.by Paul - sailmfg
They could also be fabricated out of aluminum as well. One of my boats has aluminum corners and the other plastic. If someone found a fabricator, I would be willing to send them one of my corners so they could make more. Perhaps I can find a fabricator locally who could do it. I'll check into that.by Paul - sailmfg
Jason, #916 is certainly a pretty low number, but I cannot see how it could be before 1971. The first year of sidewinders was 1969. I have a 1973 sidewinder and the sail # is 1181. I have a 1974 sidewinder as well but I don't know the sail number off hand. I know of two other sidewinders, one from 1970 and the sail number is 448 and one from 1977 and the sail number is 1827. So, your firstby Paul - sailmfg
OK, guys, given that we have three Whip owners now (lucky guys) I have finally gone ahead and updated the Whip section of the website with information that Greg and Tom sent me a while back. If you guys find any more useful information that I can scan and post, drop me an email and I'll give you my mailing address.by Paul - sailmfg
Hi Todd, You will love this boat. 30 years ago I sailed a Sunfish regularly and then moved to a Sidewinder, so I know it is a good progression. You would have to learn how to handle two sails (the main and the jib) at the same time, but this is not too hard and folks in here can help you. The Sidewinder is heavier and takes longer to set up, but is so much faster than the Sunfish, especially iby Paul - sailmfg
I'm interested in a tiller and dagger bag. I bought a boat cover from these folks (I think) a few years ago, and it has held up extremely well. I found them to be a high quality company.by Paul - sailmfg
That's great! And it is oversize too, which means it will hold the line better. Great idea!by Paul - sailmfg
Hi Ken, I think the diameter sounds ok for the main sheet. I suspect the boat originally came with either 3/8" or 5/16" but I'm not sure which. But lines are so much better these days than 30 years ago so a thinner, lighter weight line is definately the way to go as it will run through the blocks that much easier. I'm unsure of the length on this. 1/4" for the jib sheets worrby Paul - sailmfg
Ouch! Some luck. This should not be too hard. I can take some photos of the various parts for you and make some measurements. It might require some fabrication to be done, or perhaps there are roller furling setups out there that will work right out of the box. The harder part will be to replace the sail. One of my boats has a jib that was hand made (it actually performs rather nicely), so worby Paul - sailmfg
I'm really looking forward to hearing about how the spinnaker works out! Have fun.by Paul - sailmfg
Darn, sounds bigger than the bailer I found. I calculate about 76mmx57mm when I convert your measurements to millimeters.by Paul - sailmfg
Any idea what the dimensions are (my Sidewinder is in storage)? I found a Holt Allen bailer that fits a hole 42mm x 62mmby Paul - sailmfg
I've heard the bailers were made by Holt Allen. Perhaps you could try searching around all the various marine parts websites. If you find a match, let us know.by Paul - sailmfg
