Here in southern MN where the snow is still 2 feet deep in my backyard I wait for sun and wind in my face. I own a 1975 Whip and have yet to put it in the water. Bought it in the fall of 2012 and spent a few hundred hours over the course of 2013 turning it into a like new boat. This will be it's year to make wakes. What do you sail ?by wetvette - sailmfg
I cant find a trap harness anywhere for me. Im a big man, 6'3" 275 lbs with a 52 inch waist. Are there any trappers out there my size that have any ideas where to find a harness ?? maybe I'm not meant to trap, sure would hate breaking my mast in two. Confused about the rigging my WHIP. Does the jib wire work as the Forestay for the mast ?? I’ve seen some pictures that seem to show a separate forestay as well as the jib stay/halyard working to hold the mast up. And other pictures that only show the Jib wire being used to hold the mast forward. Please advise if you know the answer. Thank you. Dave.by wetvette - sailmfg
Just wanted to say nice boat. I sat down with needle, sail thread, extra dacron & sails, hand stiched what needed a little TLC. enjoy the breeze.by wetvette - sailmfg
I am pleased to see these pictures of the whip. I just bought my 1975 Whip the 25th of August 2012. My sail number US130 . My boat is in excellent condition for it's age. I do need to fix my centerboard pivot pin and want to add a tabernacle step up for the mast. I've read there were only 123 Whips made and the sail # indicates what boat you have. my sail is the original sail I'm told, so 130 kinby wetvette - sailmfg
this weekend I'll roll my boat on it's side out on the grass and install a new centerboard pin and tighten up any loose ends.by wetvette - sailmfg
Nice boat. I just picked mine up August 18 in St. Paul. it was sailing Pleasant lake. we are a couple lucky Whip owners in my opinion. good luck sailing.by wetvette - sailmfg
Just thought I'd say hello to any Whip owners. I picked up a 1975 Whip on Saturday that is in pristine condition. looking forward to putting "Ms WetVette " through it's paces. I named my Whip ( WetVette) after the first 1953 Corvette Stingray that Robert Morrison of MFG company made for the Chevy corp. I'm thinking this Whip boat is going to be as responsive & fast on water as theby wetvette - sailmfg
