Paul, I haven't been on for sometime and decided to take a look today. Have you had the boat out since the maiden voyage? I kept my at local resevoir this summer and it made it real convenient to take it out. I went out on a average of two or three times aweek pending the weather. I am still learning and had some interesting times. I use a trolling motor to get me in and out of the marina andby trjlf - sailmfg
Bill, I haven't been on this for a while. I have a MFG 19 and was fortunate this summer to be able to keep it at a local resevoir all summer. I was able to get two or three times a week. I have a 46 lb thrust trolling motor, It is fine as long as the wind isn't blowing stronger than the power of the motor. It you use the trolling motor much while your out it tends to run the battery down fast,by trjlf - sailmfg
Kevin when you put the mast up did you put it up from from the front of the boat or back. I followed the direction Paul had and haven't had any problems. I haven't seen anyone else go from the front of the boat to put the mast up, most seem to go from the back up.by trjlf - sailmfg
Has anyone replaced the headliner or painted the area? I would like to work on it this spring and I am not sure how to go about it. Thanks!by trjlf - sailmfg

Dick, I purchased my boat in Port clinton, it hasn't been sailed for several years. The ownners had the boat covered sitting in their driveway. I have been working on it since the weather broke. I've painted the trailer, put a coat on the keel and pressure sprayed both prior. I got the boat for $1200. and feel like I got a bargain, I been looking for some time. The cushions have all been redonby trjlf - sailmfg
Dick, thanks for the response. I've been working on mine since the weather has broke and hope to get it in the water soon. I've refinished all the wood and pressure washed the boat and trailer, couldne't believe the difference. I pulled Pual's instructions for rigging and hope to tackle that soon. Thanks! Paul what was your original headliner made of? I just purchased a MFG and it was pretty well stripped, the head liner is gone. I would like to replace it also but don't have a clue as to what would be the best material to use. I was fortunate the hatch cover had all been redone. If you would like pictures and measurements from it I would be glad to provide them. I was furtunate that all the interby trjlf - sailmfg
What king of condition is your boat in? I bought one last weekend it appears to be in fair condition. It needs some work but I am looking forward to the weather breaking so I can tackle it. Does your boat have a headliner in it. Mine was taken out and I am trying to get an idea of what it looked like so I can possibly replace it. Have you sailed before? Do you have any ideas on how to rig theby trjlf - sailmfg
I just purchased a MFG 19, brought it home yesterday from Lake Erie. The head liner has been removed and the hatch cover is gone. Does anyone have any pictures of their boat that has been restored or is orginal. Would appreciate any information. I have sailed smaller sail boats and a catamaran so this is a new experience.
