Hello everyone. Finally replaced my centerboard for my sidewinder. Can someone please measure the center hole locations for both sets of plastic knobs from their centerboard for me. Center of hole measured off of the closest two edges. I looked at the picture of the centerbd, but I want accuracy since I've made it this far. Also, what is the diameter of the longer knob. Not sure if it wasby Curtvk - sailmfg
On this website....Before clicking on forum or classifieds..........click on the side winder......It has sail dimensions, and a bunch of good stuff. A real fun boat. Enjoyby Curtvk - sailmfg
Have always tied the centerboard off. However, I lost mine, it seems it was not tied off good enough. Lost it in 55' deep water. Let me know if one is available. Will travel.by Curtvk - classifieds
I had problems with loose brackets also, on the rudder supports. I went to a marine store and found some plastic looking toggle bolts. I took the brackets off and used these special toggle anchors. Before tightening the brackets I put some adhesive caulk on the back of the brackets, tightened down the anchor bolt and then wiped away excess caulk. I do have the package those fasteners came inby Curtvk - sailmfg
Hi Joe, Not sure how often you get on here, but..........my self bailer is trash. Have any idea on where to get a replacement? Also, did you have to split the top and bottom of the boat to take out and reinstall, or can it be done from the top as my boat is all put together? Thanks for any help. It's April and June is just around the corner. Sail on, Garth.by Curtvk - sailmfg
Try Sailrite.com 2 yrs ago I purchased a jib kit and sewed it myself. $150. If they sew it $300 plus. They have the pattern for the sidewider jib and main sail on their computer. Main sail was like $525 This is a good place to start. Don't bother trying to find a used one...not around since boats are old. If you find one it will probably be worn. I have a 15 1/2- 16 ' Sidewinder. I'm not sure, but perhaps the 19' were produced after or longer than the Sidewinder. I love my Sidewinder. Great size, speed, light, totally easy to trailer it and go sailing by yourself.by Curtvk - sailmfg
Hello..... you can also use part of a wet suit, indoor/outdoor plastic turf grass on the matting, or the old bike inner tube. All I did was attached the tube (sut to length only) under the trim pc., then sliced a slit all the way down the center. This gives you a double affect like a wiper blade. Good luck, but don;t spend a bunch.by Curtvk - sailmfg
I am interested in a jib sail for a Sidewider. If it is available for sale and is in good or better shape then Email me please. Curtvk@live.com Thank you..by Curtvk - sailmfg
