Oh, just got a photo of the spinnaker pole for the Bandit. I had to make a replacement as the one that came with the boat was cracked in half. I had the original and the hardware so just replicated it. The length of the pole with the attaching hardware is 6' 2". I again can provide a photo but don't remember how to upload them. I think there was a post on how to do it. I will see.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Hi guys, I sort of forgot about this post. Pulled out one of the spinnakers for the bandit. I have pictures, perhaps Paul you could let me know how to get them to you. The measurements are approximate (used the measure tool on iPad) so I would first round them off a bit. Secondly not sure about the terminology for the parts of a spinnaker. Not sure if there is a luff, leach or tack to speak oby Rockdoc - sailmfg
I have two Bandits, I have two spinnakers as well. I can measure for you if you wish.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
At work but I can take a tape to it once I get home. Danby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Have two Bandits. Have no idea where to find a replacement cap. I will have to take a look at my booms to see if anything comes to mind.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Well done! Glad to see another boat brought back. I have 2 Bandits that I am working on. I have one sailing but I need to work on the bailers and put in a new gasket for the center board.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Thought I posted but hmmmm seems to have gotten lost. Are the sails being sold only as a set? If you were to let the jib go, what would you want for it? I live fairly close to you.by Rockdoc - classifieds
I am in Portsmouth, what would you want for the jib and whisker pole?by Rockdoc - classifieds
Oh man, I am sorry to hear that. Hate to see another boat in the class gone. Guess it had to be done.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
About the pin, It wedges in there pretty tight. I guess it would be good to have some sort of lock on it so as not to loose the rudder although with the wooden tiller and wooden blade (that wants to float away all the time) I think it would float for the most part.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Hi Jay, I was kind of thinking the centerboard was waited so with a totally old, stretched out cord (that broke) on the last trip out I found that the center board wants to just lift up under weigh. I got like 16 feet of shock cord and replaced it and I think that will keep it down better. While if was lifting up while sailing I had to kind of jam material into the centerboard to make it stay.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Hey Jay, Bummer you have to take her out of the water but then again it is Mass and it is going on October. I think I have a few more weeks to get out here in VA. Bay stays pretty warm into Oct. Do you get a lot of fouling after a season? Again, nice to see another Bandit owner.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Replaced my main sail tail as well as replaced the spinaker sheet with 3/16. I don't think you would have a problem with the smaller line as they are used to guide the halyards. They are not directly taking full load of the sails.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Took it tonight have to resize it smaller. I took it on my iPad. Stay tunedby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Oh snap, I forgot to get a picture of it! Durn. I was working on it too this weekend. I put a new main halyard in, new sheet for the spinnaker and sanded and oiled the little bit of teak along the centerboard. I must make a note.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
I can but my pin looks pretty crude and homemade. It was the one I got when I purchased the boat. I will try to get the photo this afternoon.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Hey I went into the pictures of the Bandit on the website and think I have the answer from one of them. Thanks anyway. Danby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Took boat 2 out yesterday and today. Wish it were un eventful but remaster due to one of the pins on the mast side stays failing . Had to get a tow back to dock. Thanks to a generous captain who was nearby. I need to replace a lot of hardware for sure. Please help a new owner out if you can. The centerboard's shock cords are broken an I am sort of guessing how to arrange new cords. Does anby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Off to pick up the boat today. Hoping for a smooth trip and a sail of the boat really soon.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Well I did a rework of the art myself and think I have the answer. If you wish you can try it again. Other than placing a big order I hope this enhancement worked. Danby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Got off the phone with a representative and she stated that the boat artwork needs to be redone. They will do it for free if you put in an order of 6 shirts. At that rate (6 shirts) the cost per shirt would be $25.53. If you could find 5 more Sidewinder owners who want one it would be good. Otherwise not sure where we stand. Same thing with the Bandit shirt as well. Durn. Well any otherby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Hey Paul, I did a bit of old school and a bit of new school technology to get the images a bit better. I renamed the enhanced shirt Swinder and the link is below. I hope this one will work better. Danby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Durn, I will see if I can run the images through photoshop and clean them up, post with new resolution. Stand bye. Danby Rockdoc - sailmfg
Oh yeah, almost forgot, you could go to edit the shirt and add your sail number by adding the text to the design.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
If you have the architectural drawings of the Teal, Dingo, Pheonix, Copperhead, Bandit 17 or Whip 17 I would appreciate an image of them. That way we can get a shirt for all the fleet.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Paul asked about a design for the Sidewinder. I think it came out pretty cool. You can go to the links to get a quote on them. The quote for my Bandit design was around $23 a shirt (buying only 2 of them). I have images for the Ford 20, Redhead, Pintail, Whistler and Shark as well. I can get a design or you can find the images and make your own.by Rockdoc - sailmfg
Thanks Paul, It was pretty easy for that. It would be great to get sail plans for all the boats but I have come up short on the Copperhead and Whip. Maybe someone could provide them and shirts could be made for them. The way it works with the company is kind of strange. They are sort of one off productions. I can try to put it on Google Bookmarks. Other than that I will shoot the links toby Rockdoc - sailmfg
